It was so good of the powers that be to give us so much (1 month) advance
notice of the closing of Third Avenue. Not only that, but they pick the
week that in many years' past has been one on the windiest of the season
9/28-10/7 (e.g. 10/6/97 - I broke my u-joint and Ken P. his ankle on a
3.5 day). Not to mention that it starts ebbing all afternoon starting on
Oct. 2. Knowing most govt. contractors, it'll probably be closed longer
than the scheduled time.

If someone can post the full scoop, I'd appreciate it.
