David,
I went on a windsurf-camping trip to San Louis afew weeks ago.
The wind was blowing wildly, off the charts and weeds didn't seem to be
a problem ( I spent alot of time getting to know each one of them......)
You can camp really near by but be prepared for all night howling wind,
 it made sleeping impossible.
It might have been ok with construction earplugs or heavy sedatives.
So the next morning we (the boyfriend and I) got up at 5:00, went to
Dennys and drove home.
That wasn't the intended camping trip, so perhaps there is somewhere
better to camp abit further away.
Good luck,
Darin

Would appreciate any advice regarding viability of weekend jaunt to San
Luis, perhaps weekend of July 18th. Concerns are any water
level/quality/weeds issues, best launch point, camping
accomodations/process, and wind probabilities (have seen Call of the Wind
graphs and it looked a bit like Rio with early morning and later afternoon
being best)? Would probably arrive around 9AM on Saturday and depart
around 6PM on Sunday.

Thanks in advance, David
