The bad news is that there may not be an easy conversion that always works.
The readings and the wind I got Sunday were related inversely. I sailed up by
the entrance top the park (The Access?) and I was on my 5.2 from 6:30 am til
after 10:00 am. For the first 45 I was evenly powered and the reading was 20.
The reading was still at 20 or above when I started thinking about going in
for a 6.0. After that the wind built and I was really wishing I was on my 4.5.
At 10:00 when I got off the water I would definitely have been powered on a
4.5 and the reading was 18. The wind during most of the morning was a little
weaker on the near shore and much lighter on the far shore. The readings may
be influenced when the wind channel down the center of the river swings closer
to shore. Maybe someone needs to place a dummy channel marker in the center of
the river so that Jim can put a station there.
