Hi Carlos,

When I was derigging at 3rd around 5:30, some guy came in saying that he had
tried unsuccessfully to tow in a board; I assume that was yours. Don't know his
name, though I think he is a 3rd Ave regular.

I imagine that towing in a board without a sailor to hold it down would be very
difficult in conditions like those yesterday. Hell, when I got off the water at
5:00, I was getting overpowered on my 4.0m2 (165# sailor). I expect the nose of
the towed board would dig in and act like a big sea anchor. Maybe the trick
would be to use a very short tow line with the nose of the towed board tied
right up to back footstraps of the towing board.

Maybe someone else has more info; sorry about your rig.

Bob

I was sailing at 3rd Ave yesterday (03/28/98) when my board and rig
got separated, my board took off and I was left holding my sail, I
survived but that is another story. My friend Mike Alardt got the
board and handed it over to another sailor who I hope brought it back
     to shore.
The board is a "Sailboards Maui" 8'6 yellow, has a JP yellow/green
fin and is practically brand new. If you have any information with
regards to my board, please let me know. After an almost near dead
experience, finding my board at this point would be a nice consolation
to an otherwise tough day at the office!

P.S. Has anybody ever try to scan the bottom of the bay and fished
a windsurfing rig out of it!?
