Pleasantly surprised at the late season
blow in Rio. Got to the levy around 4:30, power
lines is cranking and people on small stuff
are flying across the water. Drove down
to the access road, and was amazed to see
zero wind.

Back to power lines, a quick rig (4.8/8'8", 200#)
and hit the water. Very powered to OP'd for a
whole 1.5 hrs. The direction of the wind was
clocked around to the west, which made it even
more suprising that powerlines was blowing
and access was not. The wind direction made
the swell real junky, and the far end of the river
a smooth jibe heaven.

At about 6pm the wind went to almost zero. As
I was derigging, I noticed that further up the river
the wind was blowing pretty well. The angle of
the sun was pretty cool, and some guys sail
looked like a beacon of light streaking along
the water. I contemplated heading further up
the river, but the work/family/life commitments
took precedence.

BTW - the Enduro is the ultimate river board!
