Subject: Re Footstraps and Honesty

It's great to see the ego-less honesty and good advice from Kirk, as usual.
I sometimes make in the 90%s of my jibes in the Bay (no perfect day yet)
and yet still wipe out trying to get back in the straps - does that also
count as a missed jibe?? :)

Straps forward, floaty board, and center-line back strap were also key for
me. Also, the incredible sensation of control/comfort received with the
first success was a real incentive - after many total out of control high
speed runs with feet bouncing off deck, one footed acrobatics, catapults
too numerous and painful to recollect, etc. (people kept telling me it was
important, for some reason). In fact a major purchasing factor was BIC
boards having center rear strap position - extremely helpful given my size
13s (with booties too, of course), which often seem to get swiped off by
the wake when trying to slip into rear straps. Wish more manufacturers
would allow for this option, unless it's just my
inexperience/problems/unusual size, etc.
        Good Luck, David
