After missing what looked like an epic Saturday at Crissy due to
social commit's, headed out Sunday on a wind search. Passed Coyote
which didn't look good. COTW had been reporting 20 at Crissy,
but as I approached from 101 I could see big fog over the City.
The stick seemed to be working, though not in a big way, despite
much fog hanging over the hills to the west. Elected for the old
adage, never leave wind for more wind, so off the freeway. Put up
the usual 6.3/8'11", waded through the thickets of fully jacketed/
helmeted newbies, and off into the light wind. Spent the rest of
the session 50% slog,50% planing. Actually getting to enjoy slogging,
which is fun if a, you're close to shore; b, you plane enuf to pinch
upwind to make your launch. Anybody have any thoughts on why there
would be so little wind w/ such ideal conditions?...lot's o fog @coast,
blazing hot and dry inland.
