Regarding toothpaste as a defogging agent:

Sounds like a bad idea to me. I think the toothpaste might add fine
scratches. In my experience keeping lenses clean helps the most.
I just wash them at the sink with a little dish soap and finger action
and pat dry with a cotton t-shirt. Also my semi-wrap-around glass-
lensed `glasses' seem to fog much worse than my non-wrap-around plastics.
