Wow, I never expected this big a response. Thanks everyone. No, I'm not
riding my mtn bike all the way to SC, but it would be fun.

The reason I asked, is we're thinking of bringing along a motocross bike
(off-road motorcycle). We could use it to get supplies while at SC, so I'm
looking for a shortcut to the nearest town. It's range is relatively limited,
and it won't run on Pemex, so I have to find the shortest route.
