I am currently at Schweitzer Mountain in Northern Idaho. I just came in from
an
awesome powder day.

This morning we got about 2-6" of new light fluffy snow on top of a very solid
base. If you have never been here it is hard to understand what un-crowded
means. With all the people on the hill, I never saw anyone riding the chairs
in
front of me. It was fresshies all day long. I skied until my body just had to
take
a long break. In about 6 hours of skiing here I got more awesome steep turns
in then I do on my typical Tahoe weekend.

If you have never been here this place is perfect for a long 4 day weekend
when you now the weather is going to be cold/snowy. The pattern right now is
ideal:
cold temperatures (mid 20's, with light wind, NO PEOPLE. You can ski freshies
all day long during the week here, without even trying.

For those who are adrenaline junkies there is plenty of steep here, and when it
gets deep - it gets really excellent. This hill has good long lines, and great
tree skiing. It has been written about in all the major ski rags. Worth your
time.

I talked with several of the local boarders here, and they said that this is
one of
the best places for boarding .
