The report was 25 at 3:00, so left work at 3:30 - got there around
4:10, and it was raging. Saw one guy on a 4.2 who was flying, so I
rigged my 4.5. By the time I hit the water at 4:30, I was able to
plane, but just barely. Within 15 minutes, it died down to barely 5.0
(I am 160 lbs), and I had to come in. Debated re-rigging for about 1/2
an hour, then it came back, and I rigged the 5.0, which was fine for
about an hour, at which point I packed it in (around 6:15) - the wind
was dying, but returned around 6:30, and was still blowing as I drove
off.
