I used to carry a 24hr pager and cell phone. My boss suggested leaving
it in the car while sailing, and checking it every 45min or so. I often get a
drink of water around then anyway. It's been a while but I recall my
pager worked at Dav/Scotts/Waddell, but the cell phone was borderline,
and usually didn't work until I got closer to Santa Cruz.
