I too sailed 3rd Monday between 4 and 7p on a 3.2/8'3" (145#) and was amazed
how consistent and steady the wind was. The rollers in the channel were waist
high and clean with occasional chest-head high sets coming through,
definitely jumpable on a port or starboard tack. IMHO in this much wind the
swells in the channel seem to shape up better on a flood (yesterday) than on
a ebb.
Channel 7 weather reported there were wind gusts to 60 (mph or knots?) at sfo
late yesterday.....
