Ken asks:
>>Where do you get Garb Straps? Do you trust these to be the sole
tie-down (i.e., for boards sitting on the top rung) ?
WSW and Windcraft have carried Garb straps in the past. The maker is or was a
local windsurfer.I trust them. I've talked with the maker about their
construction, and I've never heard of one breaking.
I began to worry about the whole Gorge Rack ripping off my car roof as I drove
over the bridges. Rather than add more bolts thru my car's roof, I began to
pass a single, long, traditional strap over the whole setup and thru my car's
rear door openingswhen I used the Gorge Rack.
>>Also, is it possible to get two-sided crossbars to allow stacking
boards on both sides of the central vertical posts?
The two-sided bars cost ~$60 years ago, but you can point one of your bars
each direction for free.
