Went to Coyote. It looked marginal for 5.2/257, so I rigged 5.2/8'8.
When I went out at 4:00, the wind backed way off, and I had to slog out
quite a ways. In another 15 minutes, though, it came back nicely and
soon the chop and swell got uncomfortable for the 8'8 ASD CS. I came
back in and switched down to the Tiga257 - it's amazing how much easier
it is to pound through the chop on that (plastic) board.
Occasional swells started to set up late in the session and I found
some nice air - four good jumps in one reach at one point. When I
decided to come in about 6:00, it was getting light, but the Tiga
came though and held the plane all the way to the corner of the
swim area. At that point, I lost the plane, sank to my thighs, lost
my balance, and had to join the other folks swimming in!
jibe metric: 17/18 on 257 (8'5)

Went to Coyote. Sailed 5.7/8'8 from 4:00 to 6:00. It was well-powered
the whole time. KenF had started early, but was frustrated on a 5.1. I
sailed with FredS for a little while (he got some nice 5-6' jumps off
the small swell). Sailed way outside for the last hour - this was still
mostly flat, but nicely powered and a few swells for jumping. I started
to get comfortable jumping my 8'8 ASD - it's so light that it feels
quite different than my other two boards. Also got myself better set up
for speed on that board - there were about 8 of us whipping back and
forth out there. Like Friday, I planed all the way to the corner of the
swim area and then just fell into the water with no wind.
jibe metric: 16/23 on 8'8 (bigger board, but harder to jibe!)
