I launched once from the North shore, near the entrance to the small
marina that hosts the Coast Guard rescue boat. There is a small
`beach' behind a pier and access to the water is convenient. However,
the wind shadow there was even worse than at Crissy, and the tide
probably faster. I wasn't able to return to the launch site. I ended
up landing at the south shore and hitchiking back to the north shore.
My longest `walk of shame' ever, but at least I had a ride. ---L
