No cars. By the time we left it was dark. On my last leg in I
slogged almost all the way from the channel marker, and I saw nobody
out.

I agree there are other possibilities, but it seemed likely that
someone simply forgot it.

Yesterday it was OK, not great but fun. The channel was flat, but the
small swell on the shallow area was more fun than the typical Berkeley
swell. Last week-end, my first time at 3rd, I had a blast with 4.7
wind and the largest swell I ever sailed. On the way out I did not
dare jump as high as I could have; riding the swells on the way in was
suicidal. ---Luigi
